Remedial Action Firing Range East Cap
The project was located in Menlo Park near the shoreline of the San Francisco Bay, just south of the Dumbarton Bridge. The Peninsula Sportsmen’s Club used to operate a skeet shooting range at the site, which resulted in deposition of clay pigeon fragments, shotgun shell casings, and lead shot across portions of the site and in the adjacent Cargill Salt Pond. The objective of the project was to furnish and place soil materials to construct a soil cap over remediate lead, arsenic, antimony and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbon affected soils on properties owned by the City and County of San Francisco. The project featured import and placement of soil of cap, grading, construction of storm drainage system, construction of irrigation system and erosion control.
